Classes and Workshops

FALL 2017

You don’t need a talent to learn to draw, just patience and perseverance. Learning to draw is a matter of learning to see your subject and then coordinating your eyes and hands to convey it using a two-dimensional surface. These lessons can be beneficial for those who have never drawn before, as well as those who desire a way to get back to the fundamentals of drawing what you see.

With its emphasis on light and shadow, drawing with charcoal is excellent preparation for learning to paint. The expressive power of charcoal’s rich darks and subtle range of beautiful grays has made it a favorite medium for artists from the ancient past to the present.

Lessons will include working from still life, copying master drawings and portraiture. Some drawing experience is helpful.
